On the evening of March 22nd, ISP received a AMPP Project Award for "Outstanding Engineering in the Area of Materials Protection or Remediation".
The ISP team partnered with BPX to perform fabric maintenance on the fixed roof of one of their storage terminals in Texas. Utilizing our robotic surface preparation system, coupled with our proprietary system, the goal of the project was to pilot the use of the robotic as a part of fabric maintenance (FM) activity to improve execution efficiency.
Based on high level estimates, the use of robotics in FM has the potential to improve FM execution efficiency by 25%. This will also improve HSE risk by taking 1 person out of harm’s way, reduce the work duration by 50%, and reduce the cost by up to 42%.
